The bar, café, and co-working space are great spaces to hang out in and are all located on the first floor of the hotel.
What are the rooms like?
The rooms are well set up with a small, comfy sofa along with a decent sized bed. We liked that the wall sockets had USB ports built in, although the WiFi in the room can be a little unreliable. The bathroom is a good size and the shower has excellent water pressure.
How big are the rooms?
The rooms at the Park Hotel Kyoto are larger than average. You can comfortably fit a suitcase or two in the room and will still be able to move around when you open them.
Are the rooms comfortable?
The bed is comfy, just note that the mattress is on the softer side of things so that might not be everyone’s cup of tea. There are two pillows to choose from, so you can choose which is most comfortable for you.

The only views so to speak of is of the surrounding buildings. Which to be clear, are just normal businesses and offices — so nothing exciting.

The nearest airport to Park Hotel Kyoto is Kansai International Airport (KIX) in Osaka. So, first you’d need to get from KIX to Kyoto Station — there are a few options, but the Haruka Express train is fastest and you won’t need to transfer. The hotel is in a quieter pocket of central Kyoto. It’s surrounded by some of Kyoto’s most famous sites, but is just far away enough that it’s not too crowded. The main road the hotel is on is mostly lined with offices and businesses, with little shops and residential houses on the smaller backstreets. Don’t expect any crazy nightlife, but that’s not why you came to Kyoto anyway.

If you’re in the mood for some noodles, head to Men-ya Takakura Nijo. It’s about a 10-minute walk from the hotel and serves up some delicious yuzu-infused ramen.
Another interesting option is Sushi Restaurant AWOMB. They serve a kind of desconstructed sushi with high quality seasonal ingredients making for a one-of-a-kind experience. Just note that reservations are required for this place, so make sure to book well in advance.
Otherwise, there are lots of other restaurants and cafés nearby too.

A buffet-style breakfast is available at the Park Hotel offering a range of Western and Japanese foods. We personally felt that the breakfast was a little overpriced. The rooms have kettles and fridges so you might prefer to get something from a convenience store nearby or wait and grab a bite at a café before you start your day of sightseeing.

The Park Hotel Kyoto is a great option for solo travelers, couples, and small groups of friends. The are a couple of suites available, one for up to four people and another for up to six, but besides those there aren’t any larger rooms suitable for families.
