One of the biggest anime events in Japan is officially moving from its long-time Tokyo home to Osaka, starting 2027. AnimeJapan will be held at Intex Osaka in 2027 and 2028, bringing the best of industry to everyone’s favorite city.

The announcement was made in March 2026, during the final stages of AnimeJapan 2026. With the move, the organizers hope to lean into Osaka’s historical significance as a gateway for international trade, as well as its recent global visibility following the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.
AnimeJapan 2027 and AnimeJapan 2028 have the support of the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau.
AnimeJapan 2027 dates:
Public days are scheduled for March 27 and 28, 2027, at Intex Osaka, with business days to follow on March 29 and 30 (venue to be confirmed).
The 2027 instalment of AnimeJapan is set to be extra exciting, with a number of big industry names expected to take part — including Aniplex, KADOKAWA, Toei Animation, Toho, and Bandai Namco Filmworks.
