Osaka is putting on a seated, ticketed fancy fireworks show in late autumn: around 15,000 shells fired in time to music over Expo ’70 Commemorative Park, with drone formations filling the gaps. This is the fifth edition.
What to expect
The format is a scored show rather than a traditional hanabi taikai. The fireworks are choreographed to a soundtrack, and the drone segment holds shapes that pyrotechnics cannot. It takes place on the park’s East Plaza, after the park’s normal closing time.
One thing to be clear about before you plan around it: this is not a free-viewing event. Every seat is reserved and ticketed, and the organizers state that a ticket is required to enter the fireworks venue. Park admission alone will not get you in, because the show runs after regular hours.

The show is on Saturday, November 21, 2026. Gates open at midday and the show is scheduled to start at 7 p.m..
Tickets 2026
Every seat — up to 27,000 of them — is paid and reserved, and you cannot pick your exact spot within a seat category. Admission to the garden is included in the ticket.
- Panorama seat: ¥9,600 adult, ¥4,800 child
- Dynamic seat, front area: ¥12,000
- Premium front seat: ¥26,000
- Camera seat: ¥35,000
- VIP seat: ¥55,000
- Wheelchair seats: ¥24,000 for two people, ¥36,000 for three, ¥48,000 for four
Each adult can bring one child on their lap free of charge — a child who needs their own seat needs a ticket, and the organizers ask that children aged three and under not sit in a seat alone, so check the official terms for the fine print. The panorama seat is the cheapest way in, the first pre-reservation round has already closed, and tickets are sold through Pia and other agents.

Expo ’70 Commemorative Park is next to Banpaku-kinen-kōen Station on the Osaka Monorail.
