This riverside fireworks display offers a clear view of 4,000 fireworks against the silhouette of Fukuchiyama Castle in Kyoto Prefecture.
What happens?
With the backdrop of Fukuchiyama Castle on the riverbank near Otonase Bridge, 4,000 bursts of fireworks will rise over 33 minutes. This long-running local tradition was revived in 2024 after more than a decade.
Around 40 food and drink stalls will set up along the riverbank.
Tickets 2025
Tickets are currently on sale. Options include sheet seating (group, 3m × 3m for 6–7 people) at ¥8,000 and step seating (per person) at ¥2,000.
Children in elementary school and above require their own ticket.

How to get there
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Limited Express Hashidate for Toyo-Oka and alight at Fukuchiyama Station. Otonase Bridge is about a 20-minute walk from the station. The entire journey takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes.
If you’re coming from Osaka Station, take the JR Limited Express Kounotori to Fukuchiyama Station, then follow the same directions as above. The total journey time is about the same, coming in at around 1 hour and 55 minutes.
