This riverside fireworks display offers a clear view of thousands of fireworks against the silhouette of Fukuchiyama Castle in Kyoto Prefecture.
What happens?
With the backdrop of Fukuchiyama Castle on the riverbank near Otonase Bridge, 6,000 bursts of fireworks will rise over 45 minutes.
Several food and drink stalls will set up along the riverbank.

Reserved picnic areas for approximately 5–7 people cost ¥10,000, while individual seating on the steps costs ¥2,000 per person. Local cash-only sales begin on 15 June 2026, and online sales through Lawson Ticket begin at 10 a.m. on 29 June, while supplies last.
Children of elementary-school age and above need a ticket for the step seating. Preschool children may sit on an adult’s lap for free but need a ticket to have their own seat.
How to get there
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Limited Express Hashidate for Toyo-Oka and alight at Fukuchiyama Station. Otonase Bridge is about a 20-minute walk from the station. The entire journey takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes.
If you’re coming from Osaka Station, take the JR Limited Express Kounotori to Fukuchiyama Station, then follow the same directions as above. The total journey time is about the same, coming in at around 1 hour and 55 minutes.
