Higashi Honganji Temple Markets

Free
Hotel Options

Known as “Ohigashisan” to locals, Higashi Honganji hosts a variety of markets throughout the year.

What happens?

Just north of Kyoto Station, Ohigashisan Plaza — the open space in front of Higashi Honganji — regularly hosts a changing line-up of small markets, pop-ups, and community events. On any given date, that might mean handmade crafts, vintage clothing, sweets, and food trucks, or something more niche, like a coffee tasting led by university coffee clubs from around Japan.

Schedule

Besides March 13, 14, and 15, there’s something going on every day.
