Japan takes fireworks seriously, and Himeji is getting a big-league show.
What to expect
In 2026, Himeji Port will host a massive waterfront display by pyrotechnicians connected to Omagari, Akita, one of Japan’s most prestigious fireworks competitions where top Japanese pyrotechnicians compete.
More than 10,000 fireworks will be launched over Himeji Port, making this one of the largest fireworks displays ever held in the area. Expect large aerial bursts, carefully timed sequences, and a dramatic waterfront setting.

The fireworks are scheduled to go off from 7:40 to 8:50 p.m., weather permitting.
Tickets 2026
All viewing areas are paid, reserved seats. You need a ticket to enter the venue area, watch the fireworks from the official viewing area, or patronize the food stalls.

Standard one-person chair seats are priced from ¥6,000 to ¥8,500, depending on the area and seat type. Two-person box seats start from ¥11,000, while four-person box seats range from ¥22,000 to ¥30,000.
How to get there
The venue is Himeji Port. From Himeji Station, take the bus headed for Himeji Port (around 20 minutes). From the bus stop, it’s a 1-minute walk.
