This free daily mini-concert series features the koto, a traditional Japanese string instrument, in the lobby of the Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima.
What to expect
The koto is a long, wooden instrument with 13 strings. It’s one of Japan’s most iconic traditional instruments, and this performance gives you a close-up look and listen.
Each show lasts about 30 minutes and is designed to be casual —- you can walk in, sit down, and enjoy. After the show, there’s a chance to chat with the performers or try playing the instrument. If you’re really curious, there’s also a paid workshop afterward for a hands-on experience.
Schedule 2025
The free koto show takes place every day from Sunday to Thursday (no shows on Friday) at 5 p.m. until April 13. Each show lasts 30 minutes.
