What happens?
Each winter, the Kyoto campus of Heian Jogakuin University glows with thousands of lights. This is a long-running local event with free admission.
Highlights 2025
The 21st edition features a design inspired by the theme “moonlit garden.” The display will look like a night sky illuminated by the moon and stars.

How to get there
From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line to Marutamachi Station. Take Exit 2 and walk north along the Imperial Palace for about five minutes.
