Kyoto Art for Tomorrow is a contemporary art exhibition showcasing works by emerging artists with ties to Kyoto.
What happens?

Held at The Museum of Kyoto, the show features works by 40 emerging artists under 40. All works are being shown for the first time.
The exhibition offers a snapshot of current artistic practice in Kyoto, spanning a wide range of media and approaches. Instead of focusing on a single theme, the aim is to highlight the diversity of ideas and directions shaping Kyoto’s art scene today.
In addition to the main exhibition, last year’s grand prize winner will have a special exhibition in the Annex Hall.
Schedule 2026
The museum is closed on January 13 (Tuesday) and January 19 (Monday).
The exhibition extends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (until 7:30 p.m. on Fridays). Last admission is set at 30 minutes before closing.
Tickets 2026
Tickets cost ¥500 (general admission). The special exhibition in the Annex Hall is free.
