Held at The Museum of Kyoto, the show features works by 40 emerging artists under 40. All works are being shown for the first time.

The exhibition offers a snapshot of current artistic practice in Kyoto, spanning a wide range of media and approaches. Instead of focusing on a single theme, the aim is to highlight the diversity of ideas and directions shaping Kyoto’s art scene today.

Suggested Activity
Go Bar Hopping in Osaka [With Full Dinner]
Spend an evening exploring the bars in Osaka's popular nightlife district of Namba. Sample tasty Japanese pub-style food, and wash it down with your choice of drinks, from sake to umeshu and beer — all in the company of a knowledgeable guide!

In addition to the main exhibition, last year’s grand prize winner will have a special exhibition in the Annex Hall.

Schedule 2026

The museum is closed on January 13 (Tuesday) and January 19 (Monday).

The exhibition extends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (until 7:30 p.m. on Fridays). Last admission is set at 30 minutes before closing.

Tickets 2026

Tickets cost ¥500 (general admission). The special exhibition in the Annex Hall is free.
