Shuzenji Niji-no-Sato’s winter illumination event returns — pets welcome.
What happens?
Shuzenji Niji-no-Sato’s biggest seasonal spectacle has had a major glow-up.
Expect projections splayed across the British Village, a towering rainbow waterfall, and the return of the Glowing Romney Railway — the smallest steam train in the world — which you can even ride with your dog (in the designated carriage). Interactive installations light up rivers and trees as you move through the Fairy Garden. The dog-only photo area has been expanded as well.
Catch the Maple Light-up, when 2,000 blazing-red maple trees around Shobudaike Pond are illuminated, or time your visit for one of three firework nights. Around 1,000 fireworks will burst over the glowing landscape.

Schedule
The illuminations run from October 10, 2026, to March 31, 2027, from 5 to 9 p.m. Hours will change from 6 to 9 p.m. from March 1. Note that the last admission is 8:30 p.m.
The maple illuminations go from November 7 to December 13.
Fireworks will take place on November 14, November 22, and November 28.
Tickets
Standard admission is ¥1,700 to ¥1,800 for adults and ¥1,000 for children aged 4 to 12. During the Maple Light-up period, tickets cost ¥2,600 for adults and ¥1,500 for children. On fireworks days, admission is ¥3,300 for adults and ¥2,200 for children.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
