Fireworks are serious business in Japan. The Omagari Fireworks Festival is one of the most spectacular fireworks competitions in the country, and now it’s back with a spring edition.

What happens?
With a lineup of 18 talented fireworks artists, this event will feature stunning opening fireworks and intense competition displays, as well as collaborations between world-class fireworks and Japan’s finest. With about 8,000 rounds set to go off, it’s bound to be a fiery display.
Schedule 2025
The event is scheduled for April 26, beginning at 7 p.m. and concluding at 8:30 p.m. Doors will open at 4 p.m. If the weather doesn’t cooperate, the event may be rescheduled to either April 27 or May 3.
Tickets 2025
Tickets start at ¥7,000 per person for a chair, while tables that can accommodate up to four people go for ¥28,000 — if you book in advance. If you purchase same-day tickets, the prices go up to ¥8,000 and ¥30,000 respectively. Premium seats, allowing you to witness the action from inside an igloo, cost ¥330,000 for up to four people. How to get there
The venue for the fireworks is a 30-minute walk from Omagari Station. If you’re planning to go by car, keep in mind that parking spaces are limited, and each spot costs ¥2,500. You’ll need to reserve your parking spot when purchasing a ticket for the fireworks show.
