This one-day music festival features jazz, hip-hop, and a bit of local history.
What to expect
The Osaka Castle Festival features jazz musicians, hip-hop artists, and vocal performances, all set around the castle grounds. The lineup includes MITCH ALL STARS, In-Sist Band, Mitsuki Kimura, Junko Koyanagi, and Naka Nakamura, with trumpeter Mitch directing the program. The event marks the first anniversary of the Osaka Castle Toyotomi Stone Wall Museum, a new facility dedicated to exploring the layered history of the castle grounds.
There will also be a free “Park Music” stage on May 16 and 17, with performances from school and community brass bands, acoustic groups, jazz and soul singer Hanah Spring, erhu and piano duo Haruyo Kimura and Tomonori Adachi, and more.
The outdoor stage performances will be canceled if it rains.
