Flip, snap, and savor your way through Osaka’s beloved okonomiyaki at this flour-fuelled fest.
What to expect
Hosted by the Japan Konamon Association, this free event invites you to explore the world of konamon (粉もん) Osaka’s famous flour-based comfort foods. Crispy okonomiyaki or savory pancakes are by far the most popular food in this category, but other favorites include takoyaki or octopus balls and modanyaki, a variant of okonomiyaki that incorporates yakisoba or fried noodles into the batter.
At this event, you can taste freshly made okonomiyaki, try cooking one yourself, and snap some fun photos among the trick art displays.
Osaka’s food culture is known for being hearty and full of flavor, which explains why the city bears the nickname of Japan’s kitchen.
