The Oyama Fireworks Festival has been rescheduled to autumn since 2025 to avoid extreme summer heat and rainfall. Tune into one of the Kanto region’s largest fireworks spectacles — in pleasant weather.
What happens?
Over 20,000 fireworks light the autumn sky above the Omoi River. Experience rapid-fire sequences, large-scale bursts, waterfall-style cascades, and elaborate choreographed displays synchronized to music.
The launch site sits very close to spectators.

Paid seating options include table-and-chair sets for up to six people at ¥36,000 for A seats, ¥33,000 for B seats, and ¥30,000 for C seats. Premium reclining pair seats cost ¥22,000, while north-area stepped pair seats cost ¥7,000.
Individual stepped seats in the north, central and south areas cost ¥3,500 each. Bench seats for up to two people cost ¥8,000, and lawn spaces for up to four people cost ¥5,000.
The advance lottery for Oyama residents runs from August 4 to 16. General online sales are divided into a first round from September 1 to 16 and a second round from September 18 to October 3, with sales opening at 10 a.m.
Over-the-counter sales run from August 4 to September 10 at Oyama Travel Service and the Oyama Tourist Information Center. Purchases made through August 31 require proof of Oyama residency.
How to get there
Take the JR Utsunomiya Line from Tokyo Station to JR Oyama Station. The journey takes around 90 minutes. From Oyama Station, walk around 8 minutes to Kankoubashi bridge/Omoi River bank.
