Japanese football club Mito HollyHock is hosting a special Pokémon-themed matchday on Saturday, August 15, 2026, when they play Gamba Osaka at Mito Shinkin Bank Stadium.
What to expect
Everyone attending the match will receive a free reusable Pikachu bag (except fans sitting in the visitor section). The bag also features Salamence, Mito HollyHock’s partner Pokémon for this J.League collaboration.
There will also be Pokémon-themed merchandise and a special Pokémon GO stadium event.
This is part of a nationwide J.League x Pokémon campaign, with all 60 J.League clubs holding their own Pokémon matchday events.

How to get there
The venue is Mito Shinkin Bank Stadium, Mito City, Ibaraki.
From Ueno Station, take the Limited Express Hitachi and Tokiwa or JR Jōban Line and get off at Mito Station (around 1 hour and 10 minutes or 2 hours, respectively). Then, take the bus headed for Kasamatsu Sports Park (around 30 minutes), and walk around 8 minutes to the venue.
