What happens?

The Rising Sun Rock Festival in Ezo is Japan’s premier all-night outdoor rock fest. Running from August 15 to 16, 2025, this event takes place on the shores of Hokkaido at Ishikari Bay New Port, near Tarugawa Pier. Ezo is the old name for Hokkaido.

Expect non-stop music across several stages, with performances continuing all night on the second day until the sun rises around 4 a.m. Whether you’re lying on a picnic sheet, enjoying a barbecue, or lounging on the grass, you can soak in the festival vibes any way you like. The fresh air and scenic Hokkaido backdrop, combined with numerous food stalls, make this event a must-attend.
