What happens?
Come autumn, it’s all about the roasted sweet potato — known as yakiimo in Japanese. The Yakiimo Festival celebrates Japan’s love for roasted sweet potatoes, a beloved comfort food in cooler weather. Visitors can expect a wide range of food stalls offering roasted sweet potatoes of every variety, from traditional recipes to modern twists.

The festival runs from Friday, November 8 to Sunday, November 17. Opening hours on weekdays are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, they are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Tickets
Admission is free. However, to skip lines and get the most bang for your buck, we recommend purchasing tickets in advance online.
Tickets are available for ¥4,500. This package includes eight meal tickets (4 x ¥200 and 4 x ¥800) and one fast ticket, which grants access to a priority fast ane for quicker purchases at the event. You’ll need to redeem your voucher for physical tickets at the Advance Ticket Exchange Counter on the day of the festival.
How to get there
The festival takes place in Osaka Castle Park. It’s a 2-minute walk from JR Ōsakajōkōen Station or a 5-minute walk from Osaka Metro Osaka Business Park Station.
