Enjoy fireworks over Kinko Bay, brought to you by some of the country’s best pyrotechnicians.
What happens?
The Sakurajima Art Fireworks offer a 60-minute nonstop show of fireworks synced to music, with each launch timed to 1/30th of a second. The soundtrack spans J-pop, international hits, and classical music. Much of the display is created by some of Japan’s top pyrotechnicians, including makers who have won the Prime Minister’s Award.
There will be food trucks parked at the venue.
Schedule
This year’s edition takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Gates open at 3 p.m., and fireworks are slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. The show ends at around 8:30 p.m.
How to get there
The venue is Marina Port Kagoshima, located about a 25-minute taxi ride from Kagoshima Station.
