Head to the Sapporo Dōshin Autumn Fireworks to see around 18,000 perfectly choreographed bursts of color.
Note that Dōshin is another name for the Hokkaidō Shinbun Newspaper.
What happens?
This high-tech event syncs every single firework to the beat, right down to the centisecond — that’s one-hundredth of a second.
This year, award-winning masters Yamazaki Fireworks will make their Hokkaidō debut. With a resume that includes a win at the World Fireworks Competition and shows for major theme parks, they’re bringing their biggest and brightest for a one-night-only pyrotechnic extravaganza.
Schedule 2025
Doors open at 4 p.m. and the fireworks start at 7 p.m. The event will go on rain or shine.
However, if the weather turns stormy, the event will be postponed to Monday, September 15.
Tickets 2025
Tickets range from premium terrace seats at ¥20,000 to lawn seating at ¥3,000. Other options include SS reserved seats at ¥7,000, S reserved seats at ¥6,000, and A reserved seats at ¥5,500. Elementary school students and older will need their own ticket, while one preschooler per adult can sit on a lap free of charge.

How to get there
To get to the open-air Daiwa House Premist Dome, take the Toho Line subway from Sapporo Station to Fukuzumi Station (7 stops, around 15 minutes). Then, walk 10 minutes. The entire journey should not exceed 30 minutes.
