Over 3 million blooms of hydrangea paint Shimoda Park in shades of blue, purple, pink, and white each June.
What to expect
Shimoda Park sprawls across a natural hilltop covered with roughly 150,000 hydrangea plants. Well-maintained walking paths wind through the park, offering multiple scenic viewpoints and rest spots.
The festival typically peaks in mid-June, but flowering conditions vary from year to year, so do check the official website for updates.
