Takasaki City turns up the volume with one of Gunma’s biggest indoor rock festivals.
What happens?
Takasaki City Rock Fes transforms the city center into a buzzing hub of guitars, symphonic mashups, and high-energy performances across three major venues near Takasaki Station.
From indie breakouts to arena-shaking headliners like KANA-BOON and ORANGE RANGE, the weekend is packed with live sets — including a one-night-only performance by yama and the Gunma Symphony Orchestra. With stages at G-Messe Gunma, Takasaki Arts Theatre, and Takasaki Arena, plus a range of local acts, this is an all-out celebration of Japan’s evolving rock scene.

How to get there
The festival venues are clustered around Takasaki Station in Gunma Prefecture.
From Tokyo, the quickest route is to take the Joetsu or Hokuriku Shinkansen to Takasaki (approximately 50–60 minutes). This will set you back around ¥4,610 (one-way).
If you don’t mind a longer ride (around 2 hours), the Takasaki Line, which connects to the Shōnan–Shinjuku Line, can get you there for cheaper (under ¥2,000 for a one-way ride).
All venues, G-Messe Gunma, Takasaki Arts Theatre, and Takasaki Arena, are within walking distance of the station.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
