Osaka’s Umeda Sky Building knows how to put on a Christmas show.
What happens?
The Wonder Square plaza will be decked out with circus-inspired lights, music, and decorations under the theme “The Circus of Light – A Fantastical Circus Sparkling in the Night Sky”.
The centerpiece is a 25-meter-tall Christmas tree, ensconced in around 130,000 LED lights. The display changes: in November, the lights dance in sync with music by guest artists; from December, the tree switches to a circus-style show with playful colors and lighting.
Around the plaza, the Wonder Christmas Marche aims to recreate the atmosphere of a European Christmas market. Wooden stalls sell ornaments, candles, and handmade crafts alongside festive food and drinks — mulled wine, hot soup, snacks, and so on.
