Looking for laughs? Experience the best of traditional Japanese theater and comedy at one of Shinsekai’s best secrets: Asahi Theater.

Opened in 1910, this long-standing playhouse now hosts two popular theater-style shows daily, at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. The production changes every few months, so we recommend checking the official website to see what’s currently on.

Although tickets can be purchased on the day, advance reservations are also available. Please note that you need to pay for online reservations via PayPal or bank transfer. Ticket prices range from ¥1,000 to ¥2,300.
