The bright red Ferris Wheel, atop the Hep Five department store, is a local landmark. From the top — at 106 meters (348 ft) high — there are views over the city and the harbor. On a clear day you can see all the way to the Akashi Strait, which connects Osaka Bay with the Seto Inland Sea.
Each fully-enclosed cabin seats up to 4 and is complete with air conditioning, making the 15-minute ride a comfortable experience. Boarding starts at 11:00am and closes at 10:45pm.
How to buy tickets
Tickets can be purchased online or on site. Children under 6 can ride for free.
If you’re keen to shop as well, your ticket can get you some discounts at select stores in Hep Five. Hep Five, as well as Hep Navio, are department stores for trendy young shoppers in Osaka’s Umeda district. Head to the 7th floor for the Ferris Wheel.
