Jukkokutoge Cable Car is a 316-meter cable car that takes you up to Jukkokutoge summit. On a clear day, you can see Mount Fuji.

This cable car is part of the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park. On a clear day, you can see not only Mount Fuji but also parts of Yamanashi Prefecture, Kanagawa Prefecture, and even Numazu in Shizuoka Prefecture.

At the observation area, there is a café where you can buy sweets and drinks, including a Mount Fuji Latte for ¥600 and churros for ¥500. At the base of the cable car, there is a large souvenir shop and food court.

Note that the cable car runs every 15 minutes and the journey takes 3 minutes. Pets are also welcome onboard, though for a ¥300 additional fee. In bad weather conditions, the cable car may be suspended.

How to get there

The best way to get to the Jukkokutoge Cable Car is by car. From Atami Station, it is a 25-minute journey via Prefectural Route 11.

You can also get the bus from Atami Station to Jukkokutoge Climbing Bus Stop, but this takes 40 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance.
