Looking for a break from strolling around Shuzenji? Warm your feet up at Kawara Yu, a traditional-style ashiyu (footbath).

What’s Kawara Yu?

This small wooden footbath is free for everyone to enjoy. Named after the hot spring that was once stood there, Kawara Yu is a small symbol of the area’s once-bustling onsen culture. With seating for 6 people, it’s a great setting to unwind in and take in the views of the traditional town.

After you have sat here for a while, visit the other ashiyu, River Terrace Suginoyu, or the sento, Hakoyu.
