LaLaport Fukuoka is famous for its impressive 24 m RX-93ff vGundam statue. Each hour, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Gundam moves to the main theme tune of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack. At night, the statue lights up and features a special show.

Inside the mall, you’ll also find other Gundam exhibits, and a wide range of merchandise to buy.

How to get there

From Hakata Station, take the L Bus (Route 46) from the Chikushi Entrance bus terminal, heading to LaLaport Fukuoka. The journey takes about 20 minutes, with buses running approximately every 30 minutes. The one-way fare is ¥220.

If you want to take the train, you will first need take the Kagoshima Line (local towards Kurume) from Hakata Station to Takeshita. From there, it is a 13-minute walk to LaLaport. The jourey takes 16 minutes and costs ¥170.

Conveniently, there is a bus that goes directly to and from Fukuoka Airport, meaning you can shop before taking or after arriving from your flight.
