Osaka Grand Green is Osaka’s newest urban complex. Built to be like a mini town, it has everything from shops to green spaces, making it a great place to escape for a few hours.

What to expect

When approaching the grounds, you might be wondering, “Where is Osaka Grand Green?”. Osaka Grand Green is a vast complex that includes various locations such as Umekita Park, Grand Front Osaka Shops & Restaurants, Jam Base, Canopy by Hilton, Grand Green Osaka, and Office Lounge Sorappa.

To make things easier to navigate, the complex is divided into three main sections: the South Block, North Block, and Umekita Park. Each section has its own concept and caters to different crowds, mainly tourists and business people.

Umekita Park

This large green space of Umekita Park offers the perfect place to relax and unwind. Bring a deck chair or picnic mat and enjoy the green urban atmosphere. Within the park, you’ll find several cafés including the organic TALKS Café & Bar, Boo Boo Voo, and SIK Eatery. Keep in mind that some of these places are just as modern as the complex itself, only accepting cashless payments or payments through the LINE app.

As well as the cafés in Umekita Park, there are many cafés and restaurants in the North Building. There is no shortage of places to eat and shop, as there are also various apparel shops and even beauty clinics.

Jam Base

This is a large facility, in the North Building, which has co-working spaces and rental offices inside. It is specifically designed for students and entrepreneurs. Within Jam Base, there is also a members-only space which has a conference room, rooftop garden and kitchen.

Hotel

You will also find a Canopy by Hilton hotel on site. This community-based hotel, which is said to showcase the culture of Kansai, has 308 rooms, a lounge, rooftop bar, and much more.

If one hotel wasn’t enough, two more are coming soon. These include the super luxury Waldorf Astoria Osaka and Hotel Hankyu Gran Respire Osaka, an upscale resort. Hotel Hankyu Gran Respire Osaka is where you will also find the Umekita Onsen Ren Wellbeing Park. Here, you can soak in the hot spring, go for a dip in the pool, and use the gym — all of which offer amazing views of the park below.

How to get there

If you’re coming by train, you can take the JR Tokaido Main Line from Shin-Osaka Station to Osaka Station, which provides direct access to the complex.
