Located on the riverbank next to Nakagawa Dori, there are a row of yatai (food trucks) serving Hakata-style ramen and yakitori from early evening until late.
With a view of the city lights on the river and a light breeze, the location is one of the most pleasant spots in Japan to enjoy some hearty Japanese pub food.
The area has become popular with tourists with most places having menus in English, Korean and Chinese. If you’re looking for somewhere nice and not too challenging to order, then this is the place to come. If you’re looking for something a little more authentic, go for some of the more isolated yatai or duck your head under the noren (decorative flags protecting the privacy of diners) of one of the many streetside stalls located throughout Fukuoka.
