This observation tower, resembling a retro-style UFO, is 100 meters offshore from Hotel Seamore. Standing 18 meters tall and reaching 8 meters below the surface, the tower gives you the chance to admire both panoramic views and the underwater world. From below, you can spot around 30 species of fish, from sea bream to rockfish.

Admission is ¥800 for adults and ¥500 for children. Note that prices are reduced to ¥500 and ¥300, respectively, when visibility from the windows is poor.

How to get there

It’s a 20-minute bus ride from Shirahama Station to Shirahama Midsea Observation Tower. Take the 30 Shirahama Tanabe Line and get off at Shin-Yuzaki (it costs ¥410).

From the airport, take the 102 Loop-bus (towards Sandanbeki) and also get off at Shin-Yuzaki. This journey is slightly cheaper, costing ¥320.
