What to exopect
Synesthesia Hills started off as a winter-only installation but became a year-round destination in 2018 due to popular demand. The course, set in Kyoto Rurikei Onsen for Rest Resort, covers about 600 meters across 12 differently themed zones including Spiral Light Tunnel, Crystal Lake, and the popular Aurora Experience.
Entry and hours
The area is open year round, generally from sunset until 10 p.m. but hours differ according to the season. Tickdts are generally ¥1,000 for adultd and ¥500 on weekendayw, ¥1,200 and ¥600 on weekends and ¥1,800 and ¥900 during Christmas season.
How to get there
From JR Sonobe Station (on the San’In line) there is a direct bus to Rurikei Onsen (approx 30 minutes) then walk to the illumination.
