A quaint fishing village in Hiroshima, Tomonoura has served as the backdrop for many films.

Having been Japan’s leading port town in early-modern times, Tomonoura has a nostalgic atmosphere enhanced by the iconic Joyato Lighthouse. The area is also known for its local delicacies, including sea bream and the medicinal sake known as homeishu.

How to get there

You can access Tomonoura by bus from Fukuyama Station. The journey takes around 30 minutes and costs ¥560. Make sure to take the bus bound for “Tomo-ko(鞆港)”.
