The Tsuzumi Gate is the iconic red west gate of Kanazawa Station.
It has become the unofficial symbol of Kanazawa and is recognised throughout the region for its combination of traditional wooden design and contemporary style.’Tsuzumi’ means ‘drum’ and the gate was designed to symbolise the drums played in Noh Theater and the local version known as Kaga Hosho.
