What’s Gion Tokuya like?
Known for its melt-in-your-mouth warabi mochi and peaceful ambience, this dessert restaurant offers a quintessential Japanese dessert experience. Using high quality, locally sourced ingredients, each dessert is made and presented with the utmost skill and delicacy.
As well as their famous warabi mochi, they serve kuzumochi, anmitsu, and kakigōri. Desserts start from around ¥1,000, and a cup of premium green tea will cost you ¥900.

Do you need reservations for Gion Tokuya?
Gion Tokuya doesn’t take reservations. Expect a queue, especially if you are going around lunchtime onwards. We would recommend going as early as possible, as this place sometimes closes as soon as they are sold out for the day.
Other things to know: each person must order at least one item from the menu, and currently, you can only pay with cash.
