A cozy and unassuming café offering a selection of traditional Japanese desserts and drinks, perfect for enjoying as you take in the view of Shuzenji.
What’s Issekian?
At Issekian, you can warm up with a hot coffee or cool off with kakigori (shaved ice). On the food menu, you’ll find a solid selection of traditional Japanese desserts. These include different types of anmitsu (jelly agar with fruits), ice cream, and a variety of sweet and savory mochi. You can expect to pay anywhere from ¥600 to ¥800.
For drinks, the most popular choice is the matcha, available hot or iced, and served with a piece of wagashi. If you are in the mood for something sweeter, there are coffee floats, soda floats, and Calpis. You can also enjoy some amazake (a low/non alcoholic fermented rice drink), sake, and local beer from the Baird Beer brewery. Prices range from ¥500 to ¥900.
