Brewing beer in the heart of Kyoto, Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery Sanjō is the perfect base to sample local beers and chat with some locals.
What’s Kyoto Arashiyama Brewery Sanjō?
This craft beer brewery and taproom serves freshly made beer. On the menu, you’ll find what’s on today’s tap — everything from a pale ale to a Kyoto-based IPA. Want to know what’s good? Just ask the friendly staff. There’s also the option to get a 3-beer tasting set for ¥2,100.
In addition to beer, the taproom offers other alcholic drinks like Kyoto whiskey, wine, and gin and tonic. You can order bar-style food, including hotdogs, fish and chips, and fried chicken. We got the ¥700 fried chicken, and it was crispy, tender, and paired perfectly with the Kokan-Saga-Mai Saison half pint we ordered (brewed with rice from Sagano, Kyoto).
