Matcha Roastery prides itself on using first-grade tea, roasted to achieve a deep aroma and mellow flavor.

With its chill and contemporary vibe, Matcha Roastery feels like a coffee shop — except it serves matcha. That means you’ll find all the matcha drinks you can think of. Drinks on the menu include roasted matcha latte, matcha frappes, and a roasted matcha azuki bean Latte (pictured above).

If you’re feeling hungry, you can enjoy matcha-flavored sweets like matcha basque cheesecake or a matcha muffin. Craving something savory? Go for a chicken salad or a croissant filled with various savory fillings.

Prices start at around ¥550 for drinks, ¥400 for sweets, and ¥800 for brunch-style food.

Adding to the coffee-shop atmosphere, the seating area offers charging ports and free WiFi — perfect for getting some work done on a quiet day. Despite the modern vibe, the café still embraces a traditional Uji esthetic with its wooden interior and views overlooking a traditional garden.
