A small hostel with family rooms and a few dorm spots, Sharin is a quiet spot well suited to families or groups.
Occupying a simple Japanese-style house, there are dorm spaces downstairs and two tatami bedrooms upstairs with a shared toilet (but private showers). With a projector and plenty of space, the front room has enough space for four futons.
The downstairs reception is a small kitchen space where the manager prepares the breakfast (book in advance). There’s also a simple toaster/kettle/microwave set-up for guests to use along with tea and coffee.
They offer rental bikes for ¥500 a day and have some great recommendations for what to do (and eat) in the area. The manager speaks good English and has worked at a couple of hostels locally, so he’s really helpful when it comes to suggestions on the city and things travelers might need help on with Japan in generally.
