Fast Train Media Limited (company registered in England & Wales; registered office: 2 Upperton Gardens, Eastbourne, BN21 2AH) is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), and we are registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZB418961. If you are visiting from the United States, the additional provisions for US residents at the end of this policy also apply to you.

Ways that we collect information

We collect contact information including your name, email address, phone number, and address on our website only for handling enquiries, fulfilling information requests, receiving bookings and taking orders.

We collect your email address, name (when provided) and the country in which you are located when you sign up for one of our newsletters.

We keep a record of your newsletter subscription so we can manage your preferences and honour any unsubscribe request. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every email we send.

We track users to our site with cookies (cookies are a small piece of data stored in your web browser when you visit our website read more here). Cookies are not connected to any other information that you might submit to us such as email addresses, names, addresses or any other personally identifiable information.

What information we hold

When you contact us by email or through our website, we collect your name, email address, phone number and company (if you provide this).

When you buy or order something from us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, billing address, passport number, flight information, travel dates and ports of entry and exit from the country.

If you do business with us, we also collect your business name, bank details and we keep records of the invoices we send you and the payments you make.

Purchases through the website are processed by our payment providers Stripe or PayPal. We have no access to your credit card information.

Where we store your information

When you contact us by email or through our website, your information is stored on our email server or in Gmail – a service offered by Google. If you are a business client of ours, we store your information in our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, in our own accounts software and on Google Drive. If you sign up for a newsletter, we store your email address, and (where you provide them) your name and country, with our email marketing providers Beehiiv (beehiiv.com) and Mailchimp (mailchimp.com). When you buy, order or reserve something, your information is stored in our database and (when payment is made through the site) with our payment provider. All third party services use best practice security and we use strong passwords when we access them.

Our websites are hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and delivered through the Amazon CloudFront content delivery network, which process server logs and IP addresses on our behalf in order to host and serve our sites to you. You can read the AWS Privacy Notice here.

What we use your information for

We use the information you give us to send you newsletters which include news about our site and also offers from our advertising partners. You have the option to unsubscribe from any and all communication. All automated email communication includes “unsubscribe” links so that you can stop receiving communication from us.

We also use your information to complete orders, purchases and requests. If an order or purchase requires fulfillment by a third party vendor, we pass your information to that third party. We only pass on personally identifiable information to third parties that is required in order to complete the purchase, order or enquiry. No payment or credit card information is passed to third parties.

For allowing our visitors to buy or order certain products or services (such as concert tickets), we use some third party ordering systems. We collect information necessary to fullfil your order as does the third party provider.

Additionally, we and our advertising and analytics partners use first- and third-party cookies and similar technologies to serve advertising and to measure and analyse how the site is used. The information collected through these technologies may include your IP address, device and cookie identifiers, your approximate or (with consent) precise location, the pages you visit, your browser and device type, your referral source, and — for advertising purposes — your email address in hashed form. Some of this information is personal data under the UK GDPR. We rely on your consent for non-essential cookies, which you can give, manage or withdraw at any time through the consent banner on our site. Our site is free for all to use because we receive income from ad revenue. tracking through cookies helps us to improve the experience of using the site and to adapt the content to you depending on your usage and locations. For example, we can display prices in your local currency and we can stop a notice appearing to you on each page if you have already dismissed it once.

Third party services that we use

E-commerce and Mailing List

We work with travel and affiliate partners — including Travelpayouts, Kayak and Stay22 — to suggest travel services such as flights, hotels and car hire, and to measure bookings made through links on our sites. When you click one of these links, the partner may set cookies and collect data about your visit and the referral. Analytics and Advertising
We use Google Analytics to track site usage so that we can improve the site experience and develop new articles and content. You can wiew the Google Privacy Policy here.

We also use MonetizeMore to help manage and optimise the advertising shown on our sites. You can read the MonetizeMore privacy policy here.

We also enable Google signals within Google Analytics. This feature allows Google to associate the visitation information it collects from our site with Google information from the accounts of signed-in, consented Google users for the purpose of cross-device remarketing and personalized advertising. This associated data may include, but is not limited to, User location, search history, YouTube history, and data from sites that partner with Google. This data is used to provide aggregated and anonymized insights into user behavior across multiple devices. By activating Google signals, we acknowledge that we have the necessary privacy disclosures and rights (including explicit consent, where required) from our end users for this data association and processing, and that users can access and delete this data via Google’s My Activity page. You can manage your preferences for personalized ads and opt-out of Google’s Advertising Features through Google’s Ads Settings.

We use Meta (Facebook), Sojern, Adara, Crimtan, and Crazy Egg to collect data for serving ads and to obtain user insights for improving the site experience and develop new articles and content. Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

We work with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising appearing on the Website. Mediavine serves content and advertisements when you visit the Website, which may use first and third-party cookies. A cookie is a small text file which is sent to your computer or mobile device (referred to in this policy as a “device”) by the web server so that a website can remember some information about your browsing activity on the Website.

First party cookies are created by the website that you are visiting. These technology partners intend to use analytics and behavioral data across sites and apps for the following features and purposes:

Our contact and enquiry forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which helps us distinguish genuine visitors from automated abuse. reCAPTCHA collects information including your IP address and how you interact with the form, and sends it to Google. Its use is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

International transfers of your data

Some of the companies that process data on our behalf are located outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States, Canada and other countries. Whenever we transfer your personal data outside the UK, we make sure it is protected by a safeguard recognised under UK data protection law — that is, one of the following applies: the country has been judged by the UK government to provide an adequate level of data protection; the recipient is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; or the transfer is made under the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the UK Addendum to the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Who has access to information about you

When we store information in our own systems, only the people who need it have access. Our management team have access to everything you’ve provided, but individual employees have access to only what they need to do their job.

The steps we take to keep your information private

All pages on our site are sent to your web browser over a secure, encrypted “https” connection. All data submitted through our site and to third party services is also transmitted over a secure, encrypted connection.

Where we store your information on third-party services, we restrict access only to people who need it. We use different randomly generated passwords for each service, and we never use the same password twice.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

be informed about how we use your personal data (this policy);
access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
have inaccurate personal data corrected;
have your personal data erased in certain circumstances;
restrict or object to our processing of your personal data;
data portability — receive certain data in a portable, machine-readable format;
object to direct marketing at any time; and
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (this will not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it).
