Expo ’70 Commemorative Park is known for being one of Japan’s top 100 cherry blossom viewing spots.
What happens?
Expo ’70 Commemorative Park boasts 5,500 sakura trees spanning 12 varieties, with the showstopper being the 200-meter-long tunnel of blossoms along Higashioji Street.
Beyond the blooms, there will be a Sakura Food Court, where a few dozen restaurants will be dishing out seasonal specialties. After sunset, there will be illuminations.

Sakura Expo takes place from March 20 to April 6.
During the festival period, the Sakura Food Court will be held in the festival square with free admission. There will also be illuminations, centered on a row of approximately 100 cherry trees along Higashioji Street.
How to get there
The nearest stations to Expo ’70 Commemorative Park are Bampaku-kinen-koen Station and Koen-highashiguchi Station. Both can be accessed via the Osaka Monorail.
