It seems Miyajima is known for having hot feet. This event takes place only 10 days after the Fire-Walking Ceremony at Daiganji Temple is held.
What happens?
The fire walking is part of a bigger Buddhist ceremony that includes purification, chanting, and shooting arrows.
Lastly, cypress branches are set on fire, and once the flames settle down, priests along with worshippers will get to walk across the embers that remain.
