History

Founded in 1637, Gekkeikan is one of Japan’s most iconic sake breweries, located in the historic district of Fushimi, Kyoto. The brewery’s rich legacy has made it a significant cultural and historical site in Japan.

How to get there

The venue, the Gekkeikan Ōkura Sake Museum, is a 5-minute walk from Chushojima Station (Keihan Main Line) or a 10-minute walk from Fushimi-Momoyama Station (Keihan Main Line) and Momoyamagoryo-Mae Station (Kintetsu Kyoto Line). It is an 18-minute walk from Momoyama Station (JR Nara Line).
