Watch around 200 sumo wrestlers gather at the Sky Arena in Osaka for an exciting round of sumo matches.
What happens?
In addition to watching exciting matches, you can watch some traditional sumo performances including shokkiri, a type of sumo comedy show, sumo-jinku, a sumo folk song, and yaguradiko, sumo techniques.
Schedule 2024
- 9:00: Doors open.
- 9:00–10:00: Commemorative handshake event
- 10:00–11:30: Public practice
- 11:30–12:00: Break
- 12:00: Various activities performed by Makushita (the third highest sumo division)
- 13:40:Commemorative ceremony featuring Makuuchi and Yokozuna (two other sumo divisions)
- 14:00: Activites by Makuuchi (top division)
- 15:00: Archery ceremony
Tickets
Ticket prices start at ¥8,000 for stand seats (chair seats) on the second floor and go up to ¥16,000 for tamari seats (ring-side floor seats). Find out more information about each seat type and how to buy here.
