The city of Hannan in Osaka prefecture hosts a unique festival in Autumn each year in which 20 yagura – towers that are typically stationary at the center of a festival – are carried aloft and paraded around the town.
The 2023 parade takes place on October 6 from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Yagura are carried up the steps into Hata Shrine on October 13, and the festival continues on October 14.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
