What happens?
Kōdai-ji Temple, nestled in Kyoto’s Higashiyama Mountains, is renowned for its seasonal night illuminations. This autumn, from late October to early December, the temple’s garden transforms into a breathtaking display of lights and vibrant autumn leaves.
Kōdai-ji Temple was founded in 1605. Despite surviving multiple fires over the centuries, several of the original buildings remain intact and are now designated as Important Cultural Properties by the Japanese government.
