Watch as 3,000 rockets are launched into the sky against the city skyline in a festival originally created to pray for the port’s safety and to bring visitors to the area.
If the weather is too stormy, the festival will be canceled.
How to get there
The festival is held at Wakayama Port. You can get here by a 17-minute bus and then a 12-minute walk from Wakayama Station or by getting two short trains to Wakayamako Station and walking 13 minutes. You can also get to Wakayamako Station directly from Osaka’s Namba Station in 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Organizers may cancel events, alter schedules, or change admission requirements without notice. Always check official sites before heading to an event.
