The art collective NAKED are doing what they do best and turning another historical landmark into a seasonal paradise.
What happens?
Similar to the spring and summer events also held at Nijō Castle, there will be projection mapping, light effects, and illuminated gardens with the sounds of Noh, Ikebana, and traditional Japanese instruments.
Highlights
- The installation Waka Interactive was created with students from Kyoto Prefectural Sagano High School’s Heian Culture Lab, who selected twenty-six poems about the moon and autumn. Their verses appear amid shifting light and sound.
- In partnership with historic tea shop Fukujuen, you can choose a scent inspired by the new, half, or full moon, and taste a blend that matches it.
- The Kyoto Products Exhibitors Association will have local food and drink stalls arranged around the Daidokoro Front Garden. Sample regional dishes and sweets designed to pair with the teas.
Schedule
The event runs from October 31 to December 7, 2025.
Last entry is at 9 p.m.
