What happens?
The Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition is bringing the Japan Fireworks Expo to Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.
These fireworks displays aim to celebrate the deep cultural significance of fireworks in Japan, from memorial displays honoring lost lives to competitions where master pyrotechnicians push the boundaries of their craft.
Held on select nights between April and October along Yumeshima’s south side seawall, the Expo will feature regional firework traditions from across Japan, artistic displays created especially for the Expo, and a grand 30-minute spectacle on 23 July. Expect meticulously choreographed bursts of colour and precision-launched sequences near sacred sites from 5 to 10 minutes.
No extra tickets are required. If you’re in the Expo grounds after sunset, you’re in for a show. Times are to be announced.
