A large and popular fall festival in the heart of Kyoto with traditional parades and performances held annually on the second weekend in October.

What happens?

There will be grand mikoshi parades with locals carrying the portable shrines through the streets, closed especially for the occasion. With live music and dancing to accompany the parades, the atmosphere will be lively from start to finish! There are horseback parades, lanterns displays, and food stalls to keep you full throughout the day.

The portable shrine parade will start from 1 p.m. on Sunday.
